The ad below, paid for by Bnai Brith was apparently published on November 9th(the 71st anniversary of Kristallnacht) in the National Post and is causing quite the kerfuffle amongst the usual suspects.
There were the usual commentators on Big City Liberal for example whose historical ignorance is exceeded only by their abilities in moral inversion.
Particularly odious to see in the comments were the pontifications of Robert “Fuck the Jews” McClelland whose record on Jews is hardly spotless.
The ad spotlights Haj Amin Al-Husseini. Husseini is almost single handedly responsible for the metastasization of what had been a minor resolvable political dispute into a major religious existential Arab crisis. That crisis is ongoing in the Arab world and there is no end in sight. For Husseini only the death of every Jew was acceptable. His heirs, both literally such as his nephew Yassir Arafat and spiritually like Ismail Haniyeh, have continued his work.
Husseini was a thug in the Mandate from the 1920s to the mid 1930s. During this period, he was responsible for several riots and disturbances that killed many Jews. Ironically he also killed far more Arabs than Jews in this period in order to maintain his power.
During WWII he moved to Berlin where he was Hitler’s honoured guest. During the liquidation of Hungarian Jewry in 1944 he was personally instrumental in sending thousands (including over 500 children) to the death camps.
Here’s a youtube that outlines some of his other activities during the war.
The ad goes on to make the connection between Nazism and Modern Islamic radicalism. This connection is well researched and documented. It is not for nothing that Hitler’s manifesto “Mein Kampf” remains a best seller in the Muslim world.
All this being said, I am not sure what possessed Bnai Brith to publish something like this. Usually Bnai Brith is a VERY conservative, low key almost stodgy kind of organization. For it to pay for an ad like this is totally out of character.
And while factually correct, the ad serves no purpose. Okay.. so we’re supposed to wake up. And then what? Write a letter to the editor? Write our Member of Parliament? Watch the CBC? Protest at the local mosque? what?
The ad is very poorly executed as well. How many Canadians know who Husseini was(or even care) and what a low life pond sucking scum of the earth human being he was? If I didn’t know better I’d almost think that the ad was preaching to the converted… ie to those not suffering from Jihad Denial Syndrome.
All in all the ad was poorly thought out, poorly executed, and a total waste of volunteer donations.

While we often agree and I find your posts very well written, we do disagree on Israel.
there your posts fall into the usual ‘progressive’ kant that “Israel is the source of all evil in the world” that is de rigeur nowadays(and has been for decades, now, actually) on the Left.
They certainly dont pass the smell test.
You should take a look at the following definitions: Sharansky and Zelayonism
Odd that you would include me amongst the “usual suspects” when your conclusions were the same as mine.
